Tummy Time

Blakeley (usually) enjoys tummy time. She works hard to raise her head and turn it back and forth between Casey and I. It is so fun to watch her head bobble front to back while she tries to hold her head up high; it is now a night-time ritual: bobble-head time!

8 pounder

We took Blakeley to her 2 week doctor visit. She liked everything about the doctor's office except for the part where she had to get naked and weighed. Although a little uncomfortable for her, it was worth it to know that she is growing and has surpassed her birth weight of7lbs. 8oz. ...she is now an 8 pounder! It is amazing how fast children grow!

Visitors

My mom, stepdad, and niece came to visit this weekend. Blakeley had so much fun cuddling and playing with her cousin Shay!

Blakeley's room is a little more complete thanks to the handy work of Gregg--he put up the wall decals for us. Our friends Kate and Joe and their girls, Raegan and Riley, also came to see Blakeley this weekend. They brought over some delicious Indian food for dinner. We had a great time and the girls were so sweet with Blakeley. They were so excited to meet her!

Bathing Beauty

Blakeley had her first sponge bath at home. Casey was a little nervous to do this so we put it off for several days--needed the doctor's okay, of course! She was quite content, except for the face washing part.

Modeling

Before we left the hospital, we had a photographer from Bella Baby come to our room to take pictures of Blakeley. She was a very demanding model--she wanted to be snuggled between each shot, including pacifier and blanket! ;)

Welcome to the World!

We welcomed Blakeley into the world at OSU Medical Center.

Casey's parents, my mom and my niece Shaylynn were there to welcome her.

The medical staff was amazing and we are very fortunate to have had a great experience at OSUMC. Most of all, we are so thankful for our wonderful daughter!

She's Here!

Blakeley Patricia arrived today at 4:34 PM. She is 7 lbs 8 oz and almost 20 inches long. Both Mom and baby are healthy and doing well.

Eviction Notice

As of today, our little one hasn't indicated she is ready to enter into this great big world, so she is being evicted from her current home...we have an induction scheduled for tonight and hopefully our little girl will be here sometime tomorrow! We are very excited and looking forward to parenthood!

Still Waiting

We're still waiting for our little girl to arrive. It is hard to see the due date come and go, but we are excited to know that she will be here soon!

We went to a park yesterday with our neighbor and his dog--even though it was almost 100 degrees and nothing but sunshine! I was one hot momma!

Due Date

Today is the day we were hoping to meet our little girl...what other way to celebrate other than an ice cream cake! Casey surprised me with this cake this morning. I have been craving and indulging in ice cream my entire pregnancy (we'll let's be honest, even before preganancy!) so this was a very thoughtful surprise to wake up to this morning!

I guess she's decided today is not the day and to be late in her arrival. She clearly already takes after her dad!

Her room is ready for her...whenever she decides to arrive!

Just Getting Started

I thought that a blog would be a good way to keep all of our far away family and friends updated on our growing family. I enjoy reading others' blogs about their little ones, so I thought I'd follow their lead and take on our own blog to diary our lives with the little one we're expecting.
