Let's Get Physical

Blakeley loves to exercise! When she is fussy, she loves the exercise ball...thank goodness! I had bought it originally for prenatal yoga and then to use during labor while at home. Since I was induced I didn't use it at all for labor, so thankfully it is getting a lot of use now.

Picnic

Blakeley attended her first "picnic"! MBI had a staff appreciation picnic so we took Blakeley to meet all of Casey's colleagues. She slept most of the time but when she was awake she had so much fun staring at everyone.

Blue Devils come to visit

Blakeley was so happy to meet her Aunt Amanda & Uncle Brian! They came all the way from North Carolina to spend time with her. We had a great time together!We spent time talking, playing, and reading, went to dinner in downtown Columbus on the Scioto Mile, and went for a walk at the Franklin Park Conservatory.

One Month Old!

Blakeley is one month old!

The past month has gone by so quickly! She has grown so much already, she hasn't fit in the newborn outfits for a week and a half and barely fits into the newborn diapers too.

Each day is a new adventure in learning about this great big world. She wakes up each morning with Casey (he changes many diapers during this time, while I get a couple more hours of sleep), she loves to snuggle all day, play and read books in the evening, and let's mommy sleep most of the night--usually only waking up twice at night. She loves looking at the light coming in through the windows and is starting to use her voice.

We are very blessed and are enjoying every moment with her!

New Friends

Blakeley met a new friend, Benjamin Grant, my friend Katrina's little boy. Blakeley & Ben had fun together...but not quite as much fun as Katrina & I did! Thanks for coming to visit us!

She also met Guilianna, our friend Griff & Rose's little girl. (Sorry, no picture to share...next meeting for sure!)

Early Retirement

I was a working mom for all of one day.

I resigned my position...it was an easy yet difficult decision, if that makes any sense at all. I loved my job: impacting the lives of so many children--especially this year to the population of students in such need of love, care and education--and helping teachers improve their practice. Although, I felt I couldn't be both the Dean I needed to be or the mom I need to be to Blakeley with the long commute. I am excited for the experience of being a stay at home mom with Blakeley!

Happy Anniversary

Casey and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary at a wonderful French restaurant, L'Antibes, in Columbus. We had delicious food and a wonderful time together. Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa for coming to watch Blakeley!
